Carving Possibilities by Deena Larsen

Deena got a BA in English and Philosophy at the University of Northern Colorado in 1986. Her works are on structural theme by using layout.

Words: The short phrases seem to be leading up to something but not really coming to any specific conclusions. The words have feelings of intensity. Some of the phrases are actual questions that seem to ask actual facts about what did occur.

Imagery is very classical it is the actual stone sculpture of David's facial expression, right before he fought with Goliath on the battle field. Both men moving towards each other knowing that one is going to kill the other.

Navigation: The user can gently move the mouse over the surface of the face to make the words appear. Moving from one sentence to another sometimes seems to make a direct connection to the previous set of words. However, the next movement changes to another mode or sense of. The question left in my mine was 'Where is the real David' the Biblical David.

Out of Many We are One People, is the final copy of Jamacian PowerPoint Presentation. I choose this one because there is a lot of meaning to what I am trying to put across. This very rich heritage is not just unique to Jamaicans but to all nations of this world.

Using Power Point I created a presentation, by going to the tool bar file - New Presentation
On the blank page I clicked on the text box to input my copy. With the text box selected I went into the tool bar again, view - custom animation. Inside custom animation palette there are three types of animation options that can be applied to the selected text box. I can add entrance effect, add emphasis effect, and add exit effect.
I chose the effects that seemed interesting to use in my presentation. With the text box selected and by clicking on the different animation options, I can see a preview of the animation style, and determine which animation is most desirable for my needs, and then applied the animation effect to my text box.
Once I applied my animation effect to my text box in the custom animation palette, I can see the animation I applied in the animation order area. Below this area are settings I can use further to customize my animation effects. There is the start option which allows me to determine when I want my animation to start; on click, with previous, after previous. I also have a property option, which determines the direction my animation will start from; from top, bottom, left or right, etc. I also have a speed option that specifies how fast I want my animation to occur.
There are more options that can also be used to enhance my presentation, such as more effect options, like sound, timing and text animation. Sound allows me to apply music and other sound effects to my presentation. Timing lets me apply specific time for my effects to occur, and text animation allows me to apply my animation effect to my text all at once, by letter, by word, or even by groups of text.

I worked on Power point presentation. I just needed help to fix some
of the slide transitions and insert music from a CD. However we used
youtube and converted MP3 files and saved it on my flash drive via

http://www.video2mp3.net/.

We finished and timed my power point.

The project is a brief view on the history of Jamaica. It gives the viewer a glimpse into the origins of the people and the symbols that are important. Theme of my project is "Out of Many, One People" which is the nation's motto.

It is one of the most beautiful places on earth and the people are wonderful. I am looking for to doing this. I already have some nice pictures; I need to learn how to do animation.
